So what’s my studio like?

It’s one thing to be able to deliver a message as a professional voiceover with great training, but it’s imperative that you have the right tools. I have a broadcast quality, purpose-built home studio which is equipped with my award-winning Sontronics Aria microphone, I have a Focusrite 2i2 USB interface, Mackie Mixer, M-Audio monitors, I read my scripts from my iPad Pro with a magic pen for on the go editing and I have a 27” iMac. I use Adobe Audition as my recording and editing software. I have Source Connect Standard and my fibre broadband speeds are 246 Mbps download and 297 Mbps upload.

How has my voice been described?

My voice has been described as warm and friendly, with plenty of passion, meaning and panache, whilst being crystal clear, inviting, enticing and classy. But I can also lend myself to some cracking accents and “silly voices” for when it’s necessary.

What sort of work do I do?

Even though I’m a Female British Voice Over Artist, I work on a vast number of projects worldwide every day and I’ve been working in this industry for many years. You can hear my voice on anything, from Video & TV narrations, Radio & TV commercials, phone systems & mobile phone menus, eLearning courses, to aeroplane announcements, ship safety announcements, explainer videos, Video Games, Podcasts, Comedy Sketches & much more. You may even have listened to me in some lifts scattered around the world!

A ”Professional” Voiceover Artist speaks for a living every day, has been professionally trained and has invested time and money in perfecting their skills and on top-quality equipment. I hear you say – “it’s only a one-minute video narration”. I want to be competitive and fair, of course, but there are industry standards that must be followed, however, I will always be happy to discuss your budget.

I’m Della and I love telling people that I’m a Voiceover Artist. This is because I love what I do and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m very proud of my achievements. I’m so lucky to get up every day and look forward to my work, it’s such a great feeling. I’m passionate about every project I’m involved in. Each project is a new adventure, however well known the client is. It’s a privilege to lend my voice to peoples’ campaigns and products.

I fell into “doing voices for a living” after a long career in Sales and Marketing in a corporate world by accident and it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.

My ability to talk has often got me into trouble, especially when I was at school, so now I can actually tell my teachers who told me off, that my ability to be ‘a bit gobby’ has paid off...and some! One teacher told me I was useless at French and would NEVER be able to speak it and threw me out of my class: I now live in France and I’m bilingual, so there Mr Grant-Ferguson!

I have trained hard and continue to train and hone my skills; I believe it’s very important to constantly learn and progress in this industry. I have a lot of knowledge and expertise which will be very useful when it comes to helping you with your project.

I will always offer you intelligent and well-thought-out advice. I try to be very flexible, I won’t let you down, and I pride myself on my communication skills. If I can’t meet your deadlines when you ask me to, I won’t pretend that I can. Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy in my book.
